Background
Despite the major contributions made by SLARI towards scientific research over the years, there continues to be a major gap between scientific research findings and adoption on farmer fields. This is due to several reasons: some being the absence of a robust extension system and/or the absence of investments in adaptive research. Adapative research in agriculture is normally designed to solve specific problems for specific decision makers. It also fosters costimization of technologies adapted to specific ecologies and/or conditions to enhance productivity. Given this view, FSRP wishes to utilize parts of its project funds to support SLARI researchers to undertake meaningful adaptive research.
